Mosqitter® Mini FAQ
Find answers to most commonly asked questions
How does Mosqitter® Mini work?
Mosqitter® Mini mimics human cues and targets mosquitoes that want to bite you using a combination of heat, scent, and specific light wavelengths to lure and trap them. With continuous use for 2–3 weeks, it disrupts the mosquito breeding cycle, providing long-lasting, chemical-free protection.
How and where should I install Mosqitter® Mini?
You can use the device both indoors and outdoors.
Indoor Mode: Place at least 5 ft (1.5 m) away from people and animals.
Outdoor Mode: Place 10–15 ft (3–4.5 m) away from people and animals.
For best results:
- Position the unit 1.5–5 ft (0.5–1.5 m) above the ground.
- Keep it in an open space with no obstructions around or above it.
- Ensure it’s on a stable surface or securely hung using the included strap and carabiner.
- Avoid placing it directly on grass, soil, or the floor.
- Keep it away from other light sources to maximize mosquito attraction.
When will I see results?
You will be able to see initial results on day 1, with a noticeable difference after 4-6 weeks of continuous usage, as that’s when Mosqitter® Mini breaks mosquito reproduction cycles. Results might vary depending on the location and the weather conditions.
What area does Mosqitter® Mini cover?
Mosqitter® Mini covers up to 1 acre of operational area, or 43,560 square feet. It is equivalent to ⅔ of a football field.
Can I use it indoors?
Yes. To activate Indoor Mode and lower fan speed, press the mode button. Place the unit at least 5 ft from people and animals, away from lights, and ensure it is not covered or obstructed.
Can I hang it on a tree?
Yes. Mosqitter® Mini has a strap and a carabinier, that allows you to easily hang it, wherever is most convenient for you.
Is the device portable? Can I use it for camping?
Mosqitter® traps can be installed on permanent campsites and in campsite accommodation. It is important to choose the right position near mosquito resting areas to ensure optimal performance. To increase your catch rate and attract a broader range of mosquito species, we recommend using an additional attractant such as CO₂.
While the device is not portable, it simply requires access to a power cord and can be plugged in wherever needed indoors or outdoors.
Do I need to use a mosquito attractant? If so, how do I change it?
The use of an attractant is optional, but recommended, while using the device in the outdoor mode. Using an attractant in the outdoor mode would boost the effectiveness of the device and ensure a larger capture of the pests.
If using the attractant, we recommend changing it every 30 days to ensure maximum effectiveness. Place the attractant in the lower base of the container, under the trapping net. Follow the instructions for proper installation.
How do I change the net?
To ensure that your device is working properly, change the net every 30 days, or when needed. The net should not be more than ¾ full. Failure to change the net may result in a drop in efficiency.
How often should I change the lightbulb?
The UV lamp has a lifespan of approximately 19,000 hours (about 2 years of continuous operation). Please change the lightbulb every 2 years or as needed.
Can I leave Mosqitter® Mini in the rain?
Yes. Its IPX-4 rated weather-resistant housing makes it safe for all weather conditions.
Does it work against all types of mosquitoes?
Yes. Mosqitter® Mini works on all types of mosquitoes, protecting you and your family.
Is it safe for people, pets, and beneficial insects?
Yes. Mosqitter® is 100% chemical-free and has been designed to be safe for children, pets, and pollinators like bees and butterflies.
